Privacy Policy

• We collect what you enter in Amore (like your profile, dating journal and cycle check-ins) so the App can work for you.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising.
• We do not show ads, and we do not use your sensitive information to infer things about you.
• Ask Cupid is an AI, not a person. Only your recent Cupid chat messages are sent to our AI provider, without your name, email or account ID.
• You can delete your account and its data at any time in the App under Settings → Delete Account.

Information you give us

• Account information: your name, email address and birthdate. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple shares your name and email (or a private relay email) with us.
• Profile and preferences: answers you give during onboarding and in “About Me,” such as relationship goals, values, family outlook, lifestyle (for example fitness, drinking or smoking) and self-assessments of your dating readiness.
• Dating journal: the people you are dating (“contenders”), date logs, notes, ratings, outcomes, locations you type in, calendar events, goals, challenges and any photos you add.
• Cycle and mood check-ins: period days you log, moods and notes.
• Ask Cupid messages: what you write to our AI dating coach (see Section 4).
• Communications: emails and support requests you send us.
• Waitlist: if you join our waitlist on the Website, your name, email address and anything you tell us you are looking forward to.
• Ask Char questions: if you send a question to our Ask Char column, your question, the sign-off you choose and, if you provide it, your email address.

Information about other people

The App lets you record information about people you date, such as their name, age, job, interests, beliefs, photos and notes. This information stays private to your account and is used only to provide the App to you. Please enter only what you need, and do not upload content you do not have the right to share.

Information collected automatically

• App usage analytics: screens viewed, sessions, app opens and updates, failed server requests, app version, device model and operating system, linked to your account ID only.
• Subscription status: whether you have an active subscription or trial. Payments are handled by Apple; we never receive your card number.
• Push notification token: so we can send reminders you enable.
• Technical logs: our servers and website host record standard request information (such as IP address, browser or device type and timestamps) and error details to keep the Services running and secure.

We do not collect precise location (GPS), contacts, health data from Apple Health or the advertising identifier (IDFA), and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. If you use Face ID or Touch ID to lock the App, that check happens on your device; we never receive your biometric data.

Some information in Amore is sensitive, including cycle and mood check-ins (health information), details about your romantic and intimate life, religious or philosophical beliefs you choose to record, and your account login. We treat this information with extra care:

• We use it only to provide the features you use, keep the Services secure, and as required by law.
• We do not use it to infer characteristics about you, for advertising, or for marketing.
• We never sell it or share it for advertising, and your cycle data is never sent to Ask Cupid or our analytics provider.
• We treat reproductive health information, such as period data, as confidential, and we do not disclose it without your authorization except where the law requires. We do not use location or geofencing to track or target anyone near health care facilities.

• To create and manage your account and sign you in.
• To provide App features: your journal, calendar, goals, challenges, cycle tracking and Ask Cupid.
• To process subscriptions and free trials through Apple.
• To send notifications, reminders and service emails (such as sign-in links). You can turn off reminders at any time.
• To understand how the App is used, fix bugs and improve features, using analytics linked only to your account ID.
• To answer support requests and tell you about important changes.
• To tell waitlist members when Amore launches.
• To read and answer Ask Char questions. With your permission, we may edit a question and publish it in the column with only the sign-off you chose. We never publish your email address.
• To protect the security of the Services, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we do not use your content to train AI models.

• Cupid is an AI, not a human. Its replies are generated automatically and may be inaccurate. Cupid offers general dating perspectives, not professional, medical, legal or mental health advice.
• We ask first. Before your first message is sent, we ask for your permission to share your Cupid messages with OpenAI, our AI provider. If you don’t agree, you can still use the rest of Amore; Ask Cupid just won’t send messages.
• When you chat, we send only the recent messages from that conversation to OpenAI to generate a reply. We do not send your name, email, account ID, profile, journal or cycle data.
• We do not save your Cupid conversations on our servers or write their contents to our logs, and we ask OpenAI not to store them.
• If a message mentions suicide or self-harm, Cupid replies with a referral to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline instead of its normal advice. We keep only a yearly count of these referrals, with no user identity or message content. See our Ask Cupid Safety page.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or provide it to data brokers. We share personal information only as follows:

Other disclosures

• Legal reasons: when we believe in good faith that the law, a court order or legal process requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or Simons Apps.
• Business transfers: if Simons Apps is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, subject to this Policy.
• With your direction: when you ask us to share something.

Our Website does not use cookies. In the App, we use the analytics described in Section 1, which do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

We do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites or apps through our Services. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting; because we do not engage in that kind of tracking, our practices are the same whether or not it is turned on.

• Account and journal data: kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete all your App data from our live systems.
• Logs: our server and error logs are kept for up to 30 days.
• Backups: residual copies in database backups and in our logging provider are deleted on the schedules set in our agreements with those providers (MongoDB and Better Stack), which may vary.
• Analytics: usage events linked to your account ID are kept for up to 12 months.
• Support emails: kept as long as needed to help you.
• Waitlist: kept until Amore launches or until you ask us to remove you.
• Ask Char questions: kept as long as needed to consider them for the column. Published questions stay on the Website.

We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to resolve disputes.

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls that keep each person’s records private to their account, and limited staff access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and regulators as the law requires.

Wherever you live, you can:

• Access and correct most of your information directly in the App.
• Delete your account in the App under Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing us.
• Request a copy of your personal information by emailing us.

To make a request, email support@amorelovediary.com from the email address linked to your account. We will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.

If you live in California, you may ask to know what personal information we collect about you and how we use and share it, and ask us to delete or correct it. We do not sell or share personal information, and we will not treat you differently for making a request. To make a request, email support@amorelovediary.com.

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas and Virginia) may have rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale and certain profiling. We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising or use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. To exercise your rights, email us. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject “Privacy Appeal,” and we will respond within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied with the result of an appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.

Amore is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We are based in the United States, and we and our service providers store and process information in the United States. If you use Amore from another country, your information will be transferred to the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top, and if we make material changes we will notify you in the App or by email.
